The Blusher
The first mushroom I picked was The Blusher. It is given that name as when cut open, nibbled or bruised the colour goes from white to pink and then deep red. This mushroom is a common woodland mushroom in the UK, but difficult to identify as it looks alike to toxic ones.
I picked this mushroom because it has a classic mushroom look but with deep brown tones and I like the raised texture on the cap.

Hand-sculpted from polymer clay

Black and white primer and hand painted using Vallejo model paints.

I thrifted frames for this series of models. I mounted the mushroom on a black background with a handwritten label of the variety name underneath on handmade paper. I photographed the model and edited it into a print.

The Common Inkcap Fungus
The second was a Common Inkcap Fungus. Used as a way to make sure your documents weren't forged - you can't fake the spores!
Also known as ‘tippler’s bane’ - not advised as a hangover cure- poisonous to those who consumer alcohol 3 days before or 3 days after....
